Before being introduced to Cassandra, the only NoSQL database I knew anything about was MongoDB. AND I HATED IT. Not because I had a problem with NoSQL or even Mongo (I have issues with Mongo now lol) but because it was at a time when people were trying to force the use of MongoDB into EVERY scenario. I even once had a sales rep for Mongo try to convince me that my company should move our data warehouse to MongoDB.
ANYWAY...
Once I learned more about Cassandra, its architecture, and some of it's intended applications, I gained an appreciation for NoSQL databases and began learning more about them. So...I ended up getting a developer certification!
